Hiking - Walking: Levington Wind Direction: e Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 2 Sea Temperature: Weather: cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered:
We made the most of a dull and cold day by driving to Levington Marina for
breakfast in our van - watching the birds in the River Orwell as the tide
was very low. We then wrapped up very warm and headed up river to Levington
Creek. One of the first birds we saw was what we thought was a siskin but
on checking our book when we got home we think they were yellowhammers :)
we also saw lots of reed buntings and hundreds of ducks, mainly teal and
again lots of curlews grazing in the surrounding fields :) We walked around
the creek and back along the wooden walkway, waching several kids sledging
near Levington Church. It was then back along the river to the van and back
home for homemade curried parsnip soup :) So a nice 2 and a half hours out
enjoying the snow :)
